Engelbert Humperdinck has been announced as Leicester's Woodside Animal Centre charity patron, with the singer showing support for the Care 4 Paws appeal to raise £1m to build an onsite veterinary suite that will improve the way animals are cared for at the centre.

Humperdinck said 'Animals have always played a very large part in our family and I certainly hope you will be able to raise the necessary funds to build an onsite veterinary suite at the animal centre. All of Leicestershire, please get together and make this dream a reality. Thank you'.
